Mrs. Kristy Dykhouse – Recruitment Coordinator of Calvin College, along with her husband, Mr. Timothy Dykhouse, visited Indonesia from January 5-10, 2017 to see and learn about the Pelita Harapan school system. During their visit, they have visited SPH Lippo Village, SPH Sentul City, SPH Kemang Village, SDH Lippo Village, SLH Curug, UPH College, UPH Teachers College, International Teachers College, SDH and SLH Kupang. They also have some cultural experiences both in Jakarta and Bali.

They had a good discussion with Dr. (H.C.) James T. Riady – Founder of YPPH and wife Mrs. Aileen Riady – School System Coordinator, Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M. Eng. Sc – President of YPPH and wife Mrs. Anne Atkinson, Dr. Niel Nielson – Executive Director of YPPH, Mr. Phillip Nash – Head of School of SPH Lippo Village and Coordinator of Pelita Harapan schools, and other SPH, SDH, UPH College and UPH leaders. Besides that, they also had a chance to meet Calvin College alumnus who teaches at several Pelita Harapan schools.

“It has truly been a pleasure and a life-changing experience to visit many schools in the Pelita Harapan school system in the beautiful country of Indonesia”, said Mrs. Kristy Dykhouse. “God is doing a mighty work through these schools to reach children and their families at all levels of the culture with the love and true knowledge of Jesus Christ.” It is a grateful thing to know that people can see God’s work and His glory through Pelita Harapan schools. May Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan will always contribute in advancing the kingdom of God through a holistic and Christ-centered education for all kinds of level in the society. (IA)
