SPH-LV Hosts the 11th ACSC Boys Basketball Tournament

In a historic first, Sekolah Pelita Harapan Lippo Village (SPH-LV) proudly hosted the 11th Asia Christian Schools Conference (ACSC) Boys Basketball Tournament from February 20-24, 2024. It saw eight esteemed international Christian schools from across Asia competing in a spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship while embracing the beauty of cultural exchange.
Other than SPH-LV itself, the other contenders were Dalat International School (Malaysia), Faith Academy (the Philippines), Grace International School (Thailand), ICS Bangkok, ICS Hong Kong, Morrison Academy (Taiwan) and Yongsan International School of Seoul (South Korea).
This also marks a significant milestone for SPH-LV as it is the first school in Indonesia to host the tournament. Beyond the basketball court, it also serves as a platform for student-athletes to forge multicultural connections, cultivate lasting friendships, and immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Indonesia’s culture.
In essence, it is a holistic experience that goes beyond borders, enabling international Christian schools across Asia to build friendships, promote collaboration, practice their sportsmanship, learn new culture and to do ministry.
In each ACSC tournament, the student-athletes get to participate in community service and ministry activities in the local community. This year, they conducted a basketball coaching clinic and held a fun tournament for students at Sekolah Lentera Harapan (SLH) Curug.
Through tournament also provided rich opportunities for SPH-LV’s Sports and Physical Education program to take center stage and elevate its student-athlete experience. Rooted in the belief that bodies are divinely created to glorify God and intended to serve others, the program aims to seamlessly integrate fitness, sportsmanship and faith.
SPH-LV also goes above and beyond to foster an active lifestyle, promote sportsmanship through various competitions and festivals, and provide opportunities for students to shine on the international stage.
