UPH Extends Partnership with CCCU

Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) in June renewed its membership in The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). UPH has been a member of CCCU since 2015 and is currently the only member from Indonesia.
Founded in 1976, CCCU is a global alliance 185 accredited Christian institutions from 20 countries. The CCCU’s members share the same mission to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and help its members transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth and have served as the leading national voice of Christian higher education.
The CCCU partnership has benefited UPH in many ways. In 2020, UPH was chosen by CCCU’s Australia Studies Center (ASC) as the pilot project for its Study Abroad program in Indonesia. The 2.5-week program saw eight students from seven universities from the US (Azusa Pacific University, Whitworth University, Northwestern College, Wheaton College, Messiah College, Biola University and Calvin University) being immersed in activities designed to introduce them to Indonesia’s diverse culture and rich history, its pluralistic society that coexists in harmony, as well as its stable democracy and lively business climate.
CCCU membership has also allowed UPH to raise its international profile by networking and establishing partnerships with reputable, like-minded universities/colleges within the association, including with seven institutions from the US (Biola University, Corban University, Samford University, Covenant College, Dort University, Calvin University and Lipscomb University) in addition to LCC International University of Lithuania and Handong Global University of South Korea. This has opened windows of opportunity for future student mobility programs, scholar exchange, research grant and other forms of collaboration.
Additionally, it serves as a testament to UPH’s commitment to impact students through excellent, Christ-centered, world-class education in line with its motto and philosophy “True Knowledge, Faith in Christ and Godly Character”.
