YPPH Names Dr. Sheldon Nord as New SPH Executive Director starting July 2024

The Pelita Harapan Educational Foundation (YPPH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sheldon Nord as the new executive director for Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) Group of Schools for Academic Year 2024/25, succeeding Mr. Matthew Mann, who has been tasked to oversee academic improvements across the YPPH schools.
Dr. Nord has been part of the Pelita Harapan family for over 30 years in various capacities, having previously served as the first president of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) from 2007-2010 and subsequently Corban University in the Oregon, United States, from July 2012 to 2022.
His rich understanding of educational leadership has contributed to the growth of the SPH Sentul school, which he has led in the past 12 months. His tenure has seen major improvements in school academics and operations.
Dr. Nord is a well-rounded educational professional with impressive academic credentials. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Corban University, a Master of Education degree in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University, and a PhD in Higher Education from Indiana University.
We are confident that with his extensive experience and solid qualifications he will be able to spearhead the next phase of SPH’s development, elevating the schools’ academic rigor and quality of education through a focused investment in developing their personnel, technology, and facilities.
